West Hull 106.9FM are a community radio station that has been broadcasting for many years. They approached me to bring their online image up to date and more in-keeping with what mainstream radio stations look like. Their old website was tired, outdated and 99% of the information regarding shows and presenters was out of date. So a complete new build was required.
The brief was to make it user friendly, fun and to keep the community element front and centre. There are a lot of shows on the station now and as these are what people look for it was important I gave each one an identity. To that end I created show idents for each and every show which the individual presenters can now use for promotion.
As the station is community led there are a number of charitable organisations that come off the back of it, so I wanted to give them a presence too. As you can see from the community pages they have a real opportunity to tell people what they are all about and hopefully encourage more participation.
Adding a 'live listening' element was something I've never done before, but using a simple code I managed to create a fully interactive radio player which can be accessed from anywhere in the world. Click on the image below and see what you think.
